DVD Audio play

Anyone have DVD audio disks? Have you tried them on the X3's sound system? DVD player doesn't recognize the disk when inserted in mine.

Does your DVD Audio disc fall into one of these supported categories? If so, should play fine.

Someone else has posted the same issue. They had the upgraded stereo but no nav. Disks weren't recognised.

Thanks for clarifying sfax, I always forget to mention the nav bit & assumed the OP had nav in this case. So you're correct. No nav, no DVD playback among other features.

Ah. Missed that part. Looking for the audio, but it states specifically video only.

Nuts ...

Ya, a shame for a high end stereo. My old acura played SACD which was really cool. Ah well, crank up those mp3s

Just what is the video part only of DVD Audio disks? Sounds about as useful as watching a silent movie with no picture

The DVD's I had access to were audio-only. Good question, though.

Yeah, I am bringing this one back from the dead. By far the biggest stereo disappointment is the lack of SACD and DVD Audio support. The day I picked up my car I brought a DVD Audio disc with me and actually thought the player was broken.

I thought everybody connects a USB Disk/stick or an iPod these days...

DVD playback is ONLY avaliable with the PRO SATNAV with the 8,8" screen. The smaller screen SATNAV only has a CD player.

I have what you call the Pro SatNav (US, Tech package). I have DVD playback, actually used it the other night when the wife was in a store. USB disks and iPods are great for a road trip but the quality is lacking. The majority of my collection is actually flac now which the car can't play properly (but I have workarounds).

DVD Audio (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-Audio) and SACD's are a different format. Being somewhat of an audiphile I have a decent number of both these formats that I would listen to in my old car since it was supported.
