Dog Guard for 2013 X3

I just purchased our new X3 last night and I am looking for a dog guard to keep our dog in the cargo bay of the vehicle. BMW stopped selling the factory one a few years ago, (even thought it shows up on the website). Does anyone know who sells one?

Thank you in advance!

Did you get the partition option?

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

If not you'll probably have to go aftermarket setup. One that is designed to be universal across all mid sized SUVs:

http://www.amazon.com/Barrier-Gate-F.../dp/B005H3ALWM

As a free option which we have actually done a couple times, we simply extend all 3 2nd row head rests as high as they will go. Then between the gaps I spanned a couple bungee cords. We occasionally take a roughly 60 lbs dog on road trips with us and this has worked out nicely. I suppose the size of the dog and how eager the dog is to join their friends up front might have an impact on which approach you choose.

Do you happen to know if they make one for X3's with moonroofs?

There is a Cargo Net option for approx. $200 (cdn$) that is the top portion of the Cargo Cover to hook onto the roof. A new option added to the 2013 model, I unfortunately missed with my order.

Alternatively, you can have the dealer sell you the 2 in 1 Cargo Cover approx. $500 with another $500 for labour to add the roof hooks.

I have the BMW integrated cargo net/cover combo. Sounds good in theory, especially with 2 possible locations (back seats up or right behind the front seats with the rear seats down) but I would recommend trying it out at the dealer first if they have one in a stocked X3. Attaching and removing the quite heavy cartridge to/from the back of the lowered rear seats and then attaching/detaching the pins to/from the roof is quite an exercise. Less challenging in the rear seats up position, but still not something to begin if you are in a rush, or have not pratcised mastering the task. An annoyingly frustrating and over-engineered piece of kit. Definitely recommend trying it before you buy it!

Thanks guys! We just picked up our X3 yesterday. I will look at the options you all suggested and post a review on the one we pick.

Thanks again!

Travall Dog Guard

Just taken delivery of the Travall Dog Guard having ordered it via Amazon.

Much better value than BMW's. Paid £119 as opposed to £165. Quality seems good.

I will update and post pictures once I have taken delivery of my car on 15th June.

We bought the Weathertech dog barrier. It was $99, very simple to install, looks great and very effective!
