IOS5 update

If you listen to your iPhone wirelessly like I do, the idrive now displays the song title, artist and track number thanks to the new update. Pretty nice addition.

Yup, hasn't worked through most of the betas. I would hope they update soon!

Any updates? Take delivery 27th and want to know if the $250 I spent on BMW apps going for nothing with ios5 - waiting to update till more definitive feedback posted

I upgraded to ios 5 and the BMW apps seem to be working ok for me. Also get the artist and track information with the bluetooth audio.

Pandora doesn't seem to work for me on the iPhone4S and assume it's an iOS5 issue. Everything else seemed fine, though didn't put it through an exhaustive test. Hopefully an upgrade will take care of this at some point.

Updated to iOS5 on an iphone 3GS and everything working fine.
All the album artwork, playlist are there, and BMW connected works fine.

I've updated my 3GS to iOS5 as well and the only thing I notice that is different is that on the play lists they used to put the numbers first so if I put a 1 in front of the playlist name it would show up first. Now it's the opposite. Numbers are at the bottom of the playlist. Anyone else notice this?

Installed iOS5 on my 16GB Iphone 4 today and everything including Pandora seems to be working just fine. Did not need to re-pair for Bluetooth. My Itunes library (with artwork) is still visible using the Apple-supplied USB cable to the port in the storage box between the seats. All I have to do is get used to the "tweaks" they made in the phone's user interface.

Whaaaa? Your pandora works with ios 5??? I have an iPhone 4 and it doesn't work at all. Worked fine prior to the new software. I have 6nr and use the cradle. I will say the iPhone works better in playback - playlists actually match what is playing, which is nice.

So you guys are saying that you can play pandora with ios 5 if you connect with apple cable? I have verizon iphone 4..

What about over bluetooth? When will they fix it so you can listen to your songs without any cables? lol

You can play pandora but it is broken in BMW apps, aka no on screen pandora interface. It will still play via cable or Bluetooth after an error pops up.

Pandora control through BMW apps worked one of the betas before the GM. Hopefully it's something that will be fixed in the first iOS update. When it worked it was great being able to quickly check text messages in notifications instead of switching out of the pandora app and losing the connection to BMW apps. Of course it would be great to be able to switch out of the app and not lose audio...

It's the option that allows you to control pandora (thumbs up/down/bookmark tracks, change and create stations) and view track info using the iDrive screen and controller.

You can also use the bmw connected app to stream internet radio and view facebook and twitter info.

Does anyone know if you can add BMW Apps after the fact. My X3 is due to come in next week and I didn't add this feature....I think I'm going to regret it.

I've upgraded to the iphone 4s and have noticed a couple of nice things:

1) I had the IOS5 beta installed on my old iphone 4 and was constantly annoyed by the iphone bluetooth audio randomly not reconnecting when the phone linked up: the phone connection was fine but i had to go back in and re-enable the bluetooth audio. Big pain. The new iphone 4s with IOS5 connects the BT audio fine EVERYtime, which is a welcome relief.

2) The track back/forth using BT audio is WAY faster, my old iphone 4 with IOS5 was ridiculously slow navigating tracks.

Some nice surprises with the 4s.

New to both iPhone and BMW. Can stream Bluetooth or through cable. My only gripe is that the music app on the iPhone is the default and I have to hit play frequently on pandora to keep it playing ...after phone calls, after plugging in the cable etc the music player starts playing even though I was listening to pandora causing me to open and hit play in pandora.

I loaded iOS 5 on my iPhone 4. I am having trouble going forward and back with tracks via bluetooth. It works a couple of times, then, it will no longer go forward/backward unless I disconnect and reconnect it via bluetooth.

Maybe I'll try repairing my phone tonight.

anyone else see this?
