Will these wheels work?
Hey Guys,
I just bought my wife a 2011 Premium Package car and of course we both dislike the wheels. I found this set up which I really like. The seller is asking $900. See description below. Will this set up work? BMW OEM 5 Series F10 Wheels Front 18x8 Rear 18x10 Bridgestone Potenza Tires RE 760's Tread remaining= 10/32 245 / 35 / 18 Fronts 275 / 35 /18 Rear |

My understanding is that you can (will) get transmission windup. The 4*4 system needs the wheel diameters to be very close to each other, otherwise it's trying to fight against the rotation difference.
I currently run a staggered setup 245/40/19 Front, 275/35/19 Rear (from memory). It confused me, but with a wider tyre width you need a lower profile to make the diameter match. It's also recommended that you use BMW * marked tyres especially if using a staggered setup. I've not seen conclusive evidence about what the technical difference is between * marked and non * marked tyres. I learnt the hard way that you have to be very careful using non F25 wheels on the X3. Search the forum for more info. |

I don't know if these wheels will fit or not, but i personally wouldn't buy them.
I took a look at a bunch of F10 wheels, and the fronts typically have an ET of 30. That's not something that I would use on my F25. 42 to 45 is the recommended offset for 8" wheels. An ET of 30 would be hard on the wheel bearings. Might not fit either. |

Ok so knowing that I like that style/look wheel. What similar wheel do y'all recommend? Would really rather stick with 18's but if 19's gives me more options or is easier then I can try that.
I like the M Sport wheel look. |

You could go with 19" 309's that came with the Sport Activity package that year or 18" 308's. Both are compatible with the X3.

(Not strictly true actually - the dealer paid for the tyres as it was AUC stock )
