back up camera

i just bought an X3 2.8 Msport and i have parking asist, i was wondering if there is any chance to buy the OEM back up camera and install it... do you hink the harness is already in place or it will be a nightmare to do it?

do you have any idea about the price of the OEM camera? just the rear one not top view !!!

uh oh, if u searched the forum. you'll find out that theres no wiring/harness for non rear view camera so it'll be costly to get that installed

I have searched and never found such topic discussing that the harness is missing when the car is equipped with PDC.

Hate the asses that always go straight to search answers. If you cant help then don't fucking respond to the topic

I think these cars come pre-wired to add certain things to them. all u need is right parts and harness.

getbmwparts.com they have everything u need and part numbers too

Google is always your friend. A quick search of 'retrofit backup camera BMW F25 X3' turned up many hits of which this thread is a potentially useful example. I didn't take the time to do a thorough look at many of the other threads.

I believe in addition to the actual camera itself, you will also need a control module and some coding.

I was close to ordering a rear camera for my car but the vendor wouldn't provide the installation instructions to me. I planned to install everything myself and wanted to see how difficult it was before I ordered.

I've gotten my camera interface from NavTool. check them out at www.navtool.com. I've been using my camera over a year works like a charm every time
