Bluetooth Reception on X3 with Blackberry Bold 9900 ?
Just wondered if anybody has had any experience using this phone on the X3. Unfortunately BMW don't do a snap in adaptor for this phone for the X3 (They do for X5 ?). Just before changing phones I was using a sony ericcson and snap in adaptor on my 335D coupe and reception is excellent. The reception on the 335D without the snap in adaptor is rubbish, how do people find it on X3 ? I presume that this is because it is not using the roof aerial. Is there a way of connecting it into the roof aerial ? . I have ordered Bluetooth with USB on the X3.

I know that bluetooth does not need the roof aerial but I think that when you use the phone on the snap in adaptor the phone signal is relayed and received through the roof aerial(whale tail) and this gives a better signal than the phone on its own. Could be wrong but that was what I was advised by dealer.

Yes phone signal might improve in the areas of weak receptions if your phone is plugged to adapter. But if you keep the phone in short pocket and sit next to window, you might see the same improvement.

I have the Blackberry Bold 9900 and connect via bluetooth. I hardly ever take the phone out of my pocket and reception is great.
I was told the adapter only provides power and doesn't help with reception, but I didn't really research it. |

I also use Blackberry Bold 9900 with my 2013 X3, the reception is very good. I'm connected via bluetooth. I also used the same Blackberry in my Infinite G35X, the reception is poor at best in the Infiniti.
