I imagine this will be available since we already have it on the US model with NAV.

OT but In Norway the basic price for an X3 Xdrive35i( automatic transmission without any extra options) is 986 000 Norwegian kroner = 178 849.554 U.S. dollars (checked with Google)

You can check price for yourself here http://www.bmw.no/no/no/_teaserpool/...X3_03_2011.pdf

That is outrageous...I assume salaries are commensurate with high cost of living?

I'm hoping the M Sport in the U.S. will have the option of staggered wheels with summer tires like the Sports Pkg and that the Dynamic Handling Pkg confusion is taken care of.

So is the 35D coming to the US for 2012 models? If so I hope they offer an M Sport package on it (or will we have to wait until Mid year models for that, hahaha).

It would be a tough choice if going for a balance of MPG and speed because the new 28i will be pretty nice but not as fast as the 35D, although getting the same car (except for engine) and keeping $5K in my pocket makes me lean towards a 28i if I go that route...

I was told by a CA that in Sept. The 2012 X3 will start to be build.
That is when I will place my order.

I'm looking at a 2012 X3 2.8i. Can anybody confirm whether or not the base engine will remain a normally-aspirated I6 in the US, or will it be changing to a turbo I4?

I really prefer the I6, but was also planning to wait for the 2012, since there are always numerous unannounced minor tweaks made after the first model year.

Thanks!

Doesn't the 5,7 series have high gloss control trims as an option? I remember seeing it on the configuration.

Yea, I was worried about losing the N52 engine. I was able to secure a great price and pulled the trigger. I have been reading that they've been tweaking the design since it started production last fall. I am hoping with a late 2011 model, some little quality issues have been fixed.

I want the N20 turbo 4 and not the 3.0 and that's why I'm waiting for the 2012 model. I can't imagine them keeping the inline 6 since its dropped in all other models. Z4 and 5 series already went to it and they already said the new 3 series will get it. X5 and X6 don't use it anymore, emissions and lack of use in any other vehicle will mean its gone. The start of the model year makes the most sense to change it because when they changed it for the 5 series it was for the 2012 model year. Since the 3 series stops production very soon I think its history as they say. CA told me Sept 1 for 2012 production.

Black high gloss trim is standard in EU F10s (not the Piano Black High Gloss, which is a BMW Individual option). I bet u can just swap it if u want.

Will the 2012 model typically be more expensive? Starting to wonder if I should cancel my order and wait it out!
