Price increase????
Not sure if anyone realized this but I was browsing on BMW.ca and noticed the base price went up about CAD $2700 for th 35i. I'm glad I bought before the price increase. That seems kinda steep considering it doesn't look like they added any more content.

46,900->49710=2,810 increase on the 35i.
I suppose the new prices will reflect the 2013 models... order now and get April production (2013 model). Model revisions aren't updated though... The X5 35d is $2500 more than the X5 35i. I think we can assume the X3 30d/35d will be priced at 52,210 based on X5 pricing matrix. Add the tech package at 2,200 and the price will be a reasonable 54,410. I've got my check book ready. Prices also up 2.5 to 3% in Hong Kong.
But it is not all bad news (for some) -> The 4 cylinder N20 will be cheaper to produce than the 6 cylinder N52 on the 28i. Watch out for the 28i price! In Germany, it went up despite the shift to N20. |

i wonder how much of this is new features (such as the rumored lane departure system) vs BMW padding the profits. can't really tell until we see the 2013 options list, and how the packages may have been changed. who knows the price may have gone up but some features may now be standard that weren't before... I suspect its another month until we get US pricing. I suspect i'll go test drive an X3 N20 just for the heck of it.

The US prices match this price increase that started Jan 1st. The increase was $270 for the 28i and $320 for the 35i.

$270 for the US and $2700 for Canada. Nice.
I suppose the US has 10x the population... Quote:

Relax there is no price increase!
They modified the configurator to show Freight, PDI, Admin fee and tire tax to be included. Check the pricing detail by clicking on the small i next to the price. |

Are you making an assumption? The text from the website says different on the model selection page...

Note that the total price will vary depending on the province as some taxes are different. Last edited by PierreMtl; 02-08-2012 at 11:13 AM.. |

So should I have paid the 2011 price or the 2012 price?

Ah, good catch PierreMtl.
BMW needs to clean up their website and correct errors in the configurator (i.e. availability of M-Sport and Dynamic Comfort Package). Thanks for the follow up. |

I double checked my paperwork. I paid the 2011 price. I guess because I picked up the car in 2012 at the PCD, it has the 2012 sticker price on it.

I'm more curious about other fees
My invoice shows $495 for registration, $100 A/C, $6 AMVIC Whereas BMW build website shows $100 A/C, $6 AMVIC, $29 Reg, $595 Admin, $16 Tire Tax. I guess it all works out the same in the end? |

That's why using CarCostCanada or the APA for pricing keeps everything fair... ya don't feel like you've been taken to the cleaners.
There is 9.89% markup on the Canadian X3's so 4.5% profit is reasonable in my opinion. We "customers" pay for everything else anyway, shipping, pdi, special orders, licencing, etc. etc. The profit goes into property leasing/maintenance and commissions. |

Neither seemed to reflect quite as much as a 9.89% markup... unless you mean 9.89% after all the requisite fees (PDI, admin/documentation/registration)? Just realized I found those sites from your post here, so I should thank you. Last edited by Tangsta; 02-09-2012 at 10:06 AM.. |

Alpine White / Red Brown Leather / Wave wood Executive, Premium, M-Sport, Apps, Dynamic Comfort, Technology, Heated Rear Seats Which dealer did you purchase from? I guess it makes no difference considering it's the same owner. |
