So we did this thing............

We traded in our red 2017 X3 for a year older white 2016 X3....

I know - I know
The '17 had about 77K miles on it... the '16 has about 47k miles.
The '17 had halogen lamps... the '16 has adaptive xenon and led tails.
The '17 had Oyster leather... the '16 has Oyster leather...
The '17 had - well that's all the options it had - - pretty plain jane.
(no offense to any Janes)

The '16 is fully loaded to the teeth.... XLine package (which surprisingly I really like), driving assist, driving assist plus, lighting package, premium package, technology package, surround view, 19" Y-Spokes (which surprisingly I kinda like)

This Mineral White paint is actually pretty nice, as well.... not as stark as Alpine... should be super easy to keep clean!

OK, so no sport seats... and no 6-cyl... But outside of that... we're pretty stoked!

Nice! I definitely think more options and less mileage are worth it. I have a '14 loaded except for m sport and EDC and I much prefer it over the 2017 330i near barebones that's in the family. I'm always looking for the HUD, can't park between the lines without top view, and swear I can't see with the halogens LOL. What was your difference if you don't mind me asking?

For sure an upgrade!
Even going backwards in year model and dropping from iDrive5 down to iDrive4.
(id4 is actually more user friendly - haha)

Sideways move for the $$.........
Paid for this one what I paid for the other one a year ago.
Ended up driving it for only the cost of ownership for a year.

stupid high valuations for used trade ins these days helped a heap!

Just dumping the Halogen and upgrading to BI-Xenons is worth it!

I couldn't agree more. I test drove a Halogen equipped one and pulled over to check if the lights where both on and working, they're that bad. From then on, I only looked at ones with Bi-Xenon, which all 35i's have
BMW should be ashamed of producing a vehicle with such poor lighting

I also have mine with the x-line package and I've grown to really love the wheels.
Lots of curves and two-toned. Every time I clean them, they look so good.
The HUD is also really nice to have!
