X3 Residual Confusion

Pricing 2017 X3 x drive lease at 2 different Dallas area dealers. 3 year lease with 15,000 miles per year. One dealer quotes residual of 50% and the other 52%. I've asked both dealers to check their numbers and they both insist they are accurate. Anybody know the residual and how could one of them get it wrong?

Are they both offering you the same lease price, money factor, waiving the security deposit, etc? All else being equal, go with the higher residual value to provide you with the lowest lease payment and make sure they put it in writing!

Isn't the residual set by by BMW for a lease? Trying to break apart the deals but I know when I go to sign the lease, the residual will be whatever BMW set.

Yes, through BMWFS. However, dealers are responsible for writing-up/ locking-in the terms of the lease contract and are held responsible for whatever reps they make (hence, the importance for getting the terms in writing).

As was stated in another posting, the residual is much lower in the last year of a production run (the residual for a G01 should be much higher and could be a lower lease payment if BMW doesn't offer a bunch of rebates and incentives to go along with the lower residual value).
