How much of the seat covering is really leather
I was flicking through the UK brochure last night (not done this since i got my car 2 months ago) and noticed it indicates that not all of the seat covering is necessarily leather.
I had a very quick look at mine this morning when I parked at work. It seems that the side bolsters in the rear are not leather but I wondered about the front seats. I have the sport seats and it appears that some of the side bolsters may also be a leather substitute. Did anyone actually discuss this with their dealer. My question is out of interest rather than concern. |

I have no facts on this, but I think it's fairly common to have non-contact areas be synthetic. This would include the side areas, rear areas, etc. I would be happy to hear that all areas that come into contact with me are leather.

Not sure it is. These are pics of cloth/leather. Mine is full nevada leather but the point is that still some of the covering is not actually leather.
The rear of the seats are plastic like everyone else's. |

It's all leather IMO. The base of the seat where your lower back and backside are in contact is a slightly different grain - softer - but it's all leather
see difference on back

I agree and wouldn't have thought anything about it without the note in the brochure.
My front seats look precisely the same as your pictures. It is just the side bolsters in the back that got me thinking. I guess the note is probably just to state the obvious that the backs are not leather because if they don't someone will use it as an excuse to complain/get a discount etc. |

That being far too nice to BMW, I think someone will sue BMW for millions because of that.
