I have read and searched multiple boards and sub forums and have conflicting reports.

I just picked up my x3 and was shocked that I could only select my music on the phone... all i had access to with the iDrive was to move forward and back by one track.

I have Tech and Premium packages (enhanced BT w/ Assist)

Is it really not possible to have more control over my music unless it is plugged in?

Is this thread telling me that it is only possible on the 2014s?

What you can and cannot do is highly vehicle (year & options), phone and carrier specific (phone+carrier=phone software version).

All things are possible with enough money. I think there is a guy in Germany who is trying to do it, if I recall some posts I read.
