Black Grilles for 2015 M-sport?
We seem to be having some difficulty and confusion on trying to upgrade our 2015 X3 M-sport grilles.
The set we originally got from the dealer did not fit,and upon returning them, the SA told us that BMW does not sell the accessory black grille for the X3 2015 M-sport. Can anyone verify that they were able to find black kidney grilles for a 2015 M-Sport X3 or direct me to a vendor that sells them? Thanks! |

I do have black kidney grills on my 2015 X3 M-sport. My dealer ordered them for me. I think it is M-Performace parts, it was what they told me.

When I go out to the BMW USA site for genuine accessories, it only shows the grilles for X3 model in general, and doesn't differentiate for the M-sport variant. Nothing showing under M-Performance parts. |

The dealer for the original poster probably only looked under the normal parts on the parts system and not at the M Performance parts

Hi folks sorry to resurrect this thread.
I'm getting my 2016 F25 in the next week or so in the UK. Are those 100% the part numbers for the gloss black grills that'll fit mine as well? I have no chassy to check with yet obviously hence why I'm asking provisionally on here. Anyone got pics of how they look on the 2015 model? |

There's a set of before and after pics here http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1050767 If they look good really depends on the color of your car or is a matter of taste. Personally I love the black grills, but would not like them on my saphire black F25. However the black grills DO look good on white or space grey in combination with shadowline windowframes. I guess it also depends on the style you want to reflect with your car. I think that a more aggressive and sporty look can be better achieved through spacers giving more stance, especially on M-Sport with 19" or 20" wheels and not through the color of the grill. There is a thread with pics here: http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1059161 In view of the misleading information from the dealer mentioned above: Maybe there is a missunderstanding. BMW has 3 types of grills 1) Chrome frame with titanium/silver grill, 2) chrome frame with black grill, 3) black frame with black grill. Only 1) and 3) are available as aftermarket "upgrades". While 2) Is probably only available on special order. Here in Switzerland and Germany version 2) comes stock with the 18i, 18d, 20i and 20d/28d. The "quicker" models (28i, 35i, 30d and 35d) come stock with version 1). For evey color combination, there are 2 types of formats: One shape is for the pre-LCI and one for the LCI. Whether the car is M-Sport or not does not make a difference. The pre-LCI version fits on all pre-LCI X3 and the the LCI version fits on all LCI X3, no matter if M-sport or not;-)

That's a great help thanks. Spoken to that website I saw mentioned today (getbmwparts I think it was?) and they do the black on black which is what I'm after - they just can't post to the UK! So getting them sent to a friend who'll then send then over
My F25 will be white with the standard 622M alloys on, so should look good with the rest of the grills all black on the front I'm hoping. Just need to find a how to guide or get a quote from a dealer down here to fit once they arrive. T minus 7-10 days and counting now - really cannot wait to get my hands on my car. |
