After searching, probably in the wrong places, I've failed to find the location of the engine temperature sensor for my 2012 X3 28i model. I know there are coolant temperature sensors, but cannot locate the one driven by the oil temperature and thus the gauge on the dash.

Any assistance with the location of the temperature sensor would be appreciated.
