The darker wheel arches look much better. You don't get the tiny wheel look that you do with the silver (Chicago auto show pics).
It won't actually look like these images though!

Yep, dark wheel arches help avoid the massive wheel arch/small wheel syndrome.
This is Carbon Black - I like the fact that (in these pictures) it's got a strong blue undertone. I was hoping in real life it would look better than this. The configurator versions of all the other colours I've seen in the flesh (Mineral Silver, Titanium Silver, Deep Sea Blue, Saphire Black, Space Grey), have looked a lot better in real life, the configurator seems to make them look a bit dull, at least compared to their real life counterparts in showroom condition. I should go check out some real Carbon Black cars though (e.g. an X5) |

Looks good in that post. I might be tempted if I was ordering now. Order it quickly before you change your mind again!

What do you all think, regarding the matt aluminium trim on the windows and roof rails on my configuration pics. vs std. M Sport black shadowline?
Also, I'm confused about something.. The X-Line option is £490 here in the UK and includes amongst other things - "Window surround Aluminium Matt" (quoted from the brochure) The "Exterior Trim, matt aluminium" options costs more at £595, which afaict - adds only the aluminium matt trim around the windows. So pay less, get more?? Or am I missing something in the £595 option?? |

Yeah, the dealer will have no idea, or will take days to come back twith 'a' answer. Some more info though - the catalogue says this re. xLine: Window surround Aluminium, Matt. A Matt Aluminium outline on the side windows emphasises the BMW X3's robust character. However, in the January 2011 Price List, of xLine it says: Satin Aluminium Effect to window mouldings and side finishes. Could the 'effect' be significant here?? However neither say anything at all about the £595 ""Exterior Trim, matt aluminium" option, that's on the BMW website. Too black/dark if everything black, for my tastes. |
