Flap on or Flap off?

For those that have the standard 19" all season tires all around (same size all around) and no mudflaps installed, have you noticed rock chips or other paint damage above the black rocker panels from the tires kicking up stuff? It looks like without flaps the tires have a good chance of kicking up road debris above the rocker panels.

I have the 19" wheels on my MSport model, and no mudflaps. I have had mine since last May and have zero stone chips or damage back of any of the wheels. I don't care for the mudflap look, myself. Mind you, I have very limited exposure to anything other than paved roads.

I've had my 35i with 19's 6 months and so far no rock chips on the door panels. The tires def. kick up a lot of crap I've noticed especially now that I'm driving in the snow. You can see it getting flung down the doors. I hate mud flaps, but if I start to get rock chips I'm going to have to put them on. For now, I like the look without them so I'll wait.

I have the mud flaps on my DSB 28i. I really dont even notice them being there. What I DO notice is how much cleaner the car is, and how I dont have mud all over the sides from puddles, etc.

I am all for having the flaps!

Can you post any pic's of yours with the flaps on? You have the same color as mine will be. Thanks. They put alot of crap on the road in the winter here when it snows so I'm concerned about all that getting kicked up. I would think that the black plastic would help to deflect alot of that stuff low down but I think I know what you mean about a cleaner car....if there is such in the winter.

I like the look with mud flaps and the added paint protection is a plus.

Looks pretty good. Don't think it'll look as pleasing on a M-Sport unfortunately.

...especially because they won't fit very well to the bodywork.

BMW doesn't have a mud flap set for the M-Sport yet?

Nope, not that I've seen listed anywhere.
