Wheel size and off sets required first.
Hole centre size also, 74.1 or 72.6?.

The X5 E70 Type 334 Wheel specs are:
Size 9JX19 ET48 BC=120mm hubcentric dia. 74.1

The X3 F25 wheel offset spec for the 9 X 19 inch wheels is 45mm and for the Type 369 staggered set-up is:
8.5JX19 (front) ET = 38
9.5J19 (Rear) ET = 48
BUT, the F25 uses a hubcentric size of 72.5mm (sometimes listed at 72.6, but the actual hub dia. is 72.470 mm, so 72.5 works).

Those wheels should work fine as long as you get some hubcentric rings to reduce the center bore (The slight offset difference of 3 mm is no problem). In NA, those rings are called "reducers" but in Europe may be commonly called "spigot rings".

BMW and most reputable tire shops insist that the centering rings are used to insure that the wheel is mounted as perfectly concentric to the axle center-line as possible. However, many owners of many different brand vehicles that use a hubcentric system don't bother and CLAIM they have no problems if they mount the wheel carefully and gradually tighten the bolts in a regular "star" pattern. Some brands of cars don't use a centering bore and seem to get away with it. Most larger American cars don't use centering bores.

There are also people that claim that if you don't use a correct centering ring you risk having a wheel snap off in an accident because if the lug bolts shear, there is nothing to keep the wheel from sliding. That's considered to be "an old-wife's tale" and has little truth, since in a bad accident, the suspension arm pivot points will break long before the lug bolts fail and the wheel (and suspension components) will break loose anyway.

Bottom Line: Get the "spigot rings", they make changing wheels easier and you'll sleep better, and won't get flack from people who will tell you the world will end if you don't use them.

AND, you'll impress your friends when you smugly tell them you just installed new "spigot rings" on your "F25".
