X3 maintenance plan
The European 36 Months Free Maintenance Plan for the X3 2.0D F25
This is free Engine oil 30000 Km or 24 months Brake fluid every 24 months This is extra Interior Air Filter (three of them 2 micro filters and 1 recirculation filter every 30000Km or 24 Months Air Filter every second engine oil change or earlier depending on driving conditions Spark plugs every 60000 Km or (second engine oil change) Fuel filter every 60000 Km (second engine oil change) Automatic gear oil every 60000 Km (second engine oil change) not on the maintenance schedule - change of cooler fluid, differential oil, manual gear oil, power steering fluid 1) So how free is it really?! 2) And I do not think a change of engine oil, and interior filters after 30000 Km or 24 Months is not good for your car. I think 15000 - 20000 Km or 12 months is a better option or at least something to consider for you and the aftermarket. 3) The cooler fluid used to be every 3rd year on BMW. And many old school service shops recommend change of differential oil, manual gear oil and power steering fluid at 40 000 Km. |

The Euro free fluid (part) service you refer to is not offered (for free) in the UK. We have fixed price service plan for 3 or 5 years (I think) but the prices are by my bed for regular viewing during the long long wait!

The basic Service Inclusive in the UK costs 350 GBP and covers:
- Oil service - Oil top-ups between services - Vehicle-check and standard inspections - Micro filter - Renew spark plugs - Renew brake fluid - Fuel filter (diesel models only) for 5 years/60000 miles. |

This is the Swedish Maintenance Plan for X3 F25. I guess it is better to control the service on your own to be sure on what is actually performed on the car. The 36 months or 80000Km free service is an marketing pitch for Swedish market, but it is not sufficient for serious and careful BMW driver. I think the maintenance plan is triggered by cost, not by what is best for your car.
