2011 X3 35i runs rough cold
Runs rough and dies until warmed up, one MIL P112F which has been there for 6 years but now is permanent.
1. 108001 "Intake air temperature sensor, electrical: short circuit to B+" 2. 10VA43 "Intake-air temperature sensor, cold start: intake-air temperature too low" 3. 1D2008 "Characteristic map thermostat, mechanical: jammed open" Any ideas what this means? MAP sensor? |

Rough running cold
If you haven't done so yet, replace the high pressure fuel pump especially if you have to crank it over more than 2 seconds. I changed mine at 140k. And do the same with the water pump and thermostat. They fail over 100k and a whole string of faults/problems arise such as the cooling fan engaging and running hard (stop car, turn off engine - fan resets). I got my parts from FCP Euro with lifetime replacement. Pay someone to install these because it's a pain in the ass to diy.

Thank you for the reply. The car has 190k km and runs OK once warmed up. I have not done the high pressure pump yet as it is very expensive and with the cheap Chinese pumps you are asking for problems if not immediately then a few months down the road. This also goes for throttle body ... not cheap. Hate to just throw parts at it and possibly create new issues.
