Ac Schnitzer X3

Im thinking about getting my X3's black trim painted similar to the one on This Ac Schnitzer X3. What you guys think about getting the black trim painted to match the body color. Also check this thread out for more pics n video

Those are completely different panels/trim than the standard black. The black standard trim is ABS plastic (or similar) and has a textured surface. It may be possible to paint it, but would be tricky - and it would never look like what you see there.

I get it, thats why they have no texture. Bro you know any thing that I can do to get rid of the abs plastic? I should have just gotten the M package.

Hmmm.... short of going with a kit like Schnitzer, not really. Look on the bright side (and I'm not just saying this), you have less painted surface to be damaged by stones and to scrape bugs off of.

You could talk to a good body shop about painting them, but I'm skeptical on the long term adhesion to the substrate. Most likely would end up peeling - in which case you'd be obligated by law to put cheap purple window tint on all your glass, and leave lots of bubbles in.

I think the black trim breaks up the car nicely. I do like the monochromatic look, but the black trim looks nice too. I would invest in a nice set of wheels and a drop instead. A nice set of rims can change the whole demeanor of the car.

Yea bro I'm just going to wait for BMW to release an aerodynamic kit for the X3, like the one they have for the X5, because like you said I don't want to get something done from a body shop that might go bad over time. Thanks Bro for the help.

What type of rims you think would suit the X3 the best?

LOL I am still deciding myself. With so little examples floating around on the net, I am still unsure. I know I like the classic mesh design wheels. I used to like deep dish wheels, but the concave wheels are growing on me.

I think any of these mesh designs would look good.

Yea man its a tough decision but the concave wheels do seem like they would be the best fit.

Agreed. I think the concave wheels are more in tune with the X3s modern design. I like the deep dish because I am still stuck in the 80's. I like the price and performance of the TSW Nurburgring but am still on the fence on the design. It's a flat face.

Check the pic I found of 19 inch TSW Nurburgring on the X3

1 to the first tasteful set of aftermarket rims I've seen on an X3. Well done.
