Do Dealers Make Mistakes with Orders?

So my X3 came in today. I ordered the Executive Package and Premium Package (in Canada). I get my car today and to my delight, it has the Lights Package too. BMW Canada has it as a $350 option on their website and not as a part of any package. Is this a coincidence or do I just not know what lights package is? (When I open the doors, there are lights underneath all the door handles)

I'm pretty sure it was there fault. If you don't have to pay extra for it, then don't mention it with the dealer.

When I took delivery, it surprisingly came with leather (which I didn't order). Turns out my dealer was being cheeky and decided to squeeze that in for me to pay more.. Well end of story I walked away without paying for the leather

Dealers often add low cost items that they think will help sell the car in the chance that you bail on them.

Yes they make mistakes. They did not order BMW Apps on mine despite me having ordered it and it being on the purchase order.

All Canadian 35i that i have seen came with the "Lights under the door handles", however it is different from the $350 light package which also includes ambient lightning inside the vehicle

To be fair dealers are people too... It is OK to make mistakes so long as restitution is also made.

I ordered my 2012 X3 28i with heated seats as a stand alone option. The car was delivered with Cold Weather Package which includes heated steering wheel and 40/20/40 split fold rear seat by mistake and the dealer did not charge me extra. Mistakes are not always bad...

So looks like BMW is making "good mistakes" haha... I like the feature a lot, but to be honest, even after having it now, I wouldn't spend $350 on the lights package option

I believe the door handle light is standard in all X3 models even though they have separate Ambient Light pkg which includes front footwell lights as additional.

The light underneath the outside doorhandles comes with one or both of the options:

322 Comfort Access system
or the
563 Light package.

The 563 Light package also includes ambient lightning and lights in the footwells.

Hey Fryguy29, they gave me $1k back to cover it, which I finally decided it was okay figuring that I if I wanted, I'll get it retrofitted, but I wasn't entirely sure just yet that I still wanted it considering how long I've gone without it. The car runs well and I was afraid of murphy's law in waiting for a new one. If I had more patience I probably would have done that but hell I've been kinda enjoying my car too much.
