Thanks for all the pictures, got all (almost) of my bulbs changed over tonight.
I changed interior light bulb to white LED for all of my cars simply because white looks better than yellowish interior light.

However, I failed to count the number of bulbs and ordered only 10 bulbs but there are total of 11 bulbs to be changed.

$7 USD for 10 bulbs is one of the cheapest mod I have done so far, lol. My silver turn signal bulbs are more than double of that.

Note for people who want to try this,

1. Rear doors. Do not pull the cover too hard as the wire is short and might detach the bulb setting from the wire which can be hard to put back.

2. Front dome light, don't leave it facing up-side-down once pull down as the metal clip holding the dome is not fixed and might fall into gaps between seat and center console and it's hard to pick up. Also, zzz's last picture is important as it shows you where the clips are which makes pulling the trim pretty simple.

Rear map light seem hard at first, but if you pull the edge down a little bit with your finger, you can actually see the clip (small red circle) as shown in the first picture that E60orBust took.

i am sure I can do this all over again in a little as 30 minutes or less.

I have swapped all my interior lights over to LED, but I can't figure out how to access footwell lights. I see you successfully swapped yours so can you share how you accessed them ?

It looks nicer, but the light out put is typically shittier.

I stopped doing it for my vehicles lol

Search YouTube, there are a couple of videos on there as how to do it. I have to say the X3 is the most difficult car I've ever done.

BMW X3 2013 console light replacement

Pic 1 is of the rear dome/map lights. The tab is on the side with the circular light, right in the middle. Just give it a push with a flat screw driver and the unit will pop down.

Pic 2/3 is of the center overhead. There is a small decorative trim piece going around the SOS/Sunroof/Airbag warning light. I popped it off with a sharp pocket knife. Behind that trim there is the L pocket on each side, push that in (third pic) and the cluster can be pulled down.
Hi,
thank you for posting pictures. I have another larger gray trim "A" surrounding small trim "B" you've removed on your pic. 2 and 3. Do I need to remove trim "A" first, or leave it alone? I need to push back clear lenz. Thank you!
