Tire chaulk

When I had my snow tires put on they marked the LS2's with tire chaulk on either the tread or sidewall. What's the best way to remove the markings from the sidewall's? I've tried soap and water and it doesn't seem to get it off.

I'd try some Griot's rubber cleaner (griotsgarage.com) or some similar product and some vigorous rubbing.
