I got carbon black as well. However, another thread showed the brown metallic and it is quite sharp!

We are already have a silver 328 in the stable, so not an option.

The Carbon Black is awesome...I have the Le Mans Blue now so didn't want another blue car. I think the lighter colors tend to show off the M Sport better as well. I was torn between the space grey and the alpine white. I ended up choosing the white, mainly because I couldn't decide and it was 500 bucks cheaper....lol.

I have not seen X-line yet but hope the Dark copper trim is nice too with the Mocha.
Fortunately, for me when I took delivery of my 2012 35i with Sport Activity Package and X-Line trim, anthracite headliner, sport shift auto with paddle shifters, sport seats with power lumbar/side bolsters + extendable thigh support, and 19's (Style 309 -which I swapped out for 20's) was a part of the mix. When I asked the wife if she wanted M-Sport she asked me "does it have an ///M engine?"
She had a point LOL

With the current models the aforementioned equipment can "only" be had with M-Sport, at least on this side of the pond. So M-sport is nets you more equipment these days and present a viable choice.

This is what I don't get and see quite a lot.....BMWs have been available as M Sport for decades and never to my knowledge has this included an M engine, they are not M cars and not marketed as such. Usually they have sport suspension but not on the X3 in the US it seems (just everywhere else!). Supposedly the styling and suspension for M Sports comes form their M Sport dept but this part surely is marketing.

How any X series could be a real M car even with an M engine is something I find unlikely anyway. The real M cars are the likes of M3 and M5 etc.

Well one could argue that the X5M/X6M have "S series" engines so they are more than just a cosmetic package. The USA has had M technic, M Tech, M Sport - packages for years. It just now it seems that the ///M badge has run a muck on everything from a 2 Series Active Tourer to ///M badged mountain bikes I'm some what guilty here as well as I have a BMW Cruise bike myself.
She was being sarcastic as at one point we were going to buy one of the X///M twins, but picked up an ///M3 instead .

I love my 2011 28i. So I figured I would love my 2015 even more by getting "more" car, getting the M-Sport. The 35i engine! OH YES! AWESOME! Especially with DHP

Question on pricing. Is invoice what the dealers pay for cars from BMW? No holdbacks, etc? If invoice is say $50K, that is what they paid so presumably wouldn't ever go below that number unless they are desperate to move the car and take a loss? I realize it's different across the various manufacturers, so I ask as a point of negotiation.

Do you know what that is (%) and is it a holdback off the invoice price?

Would you have traded up model years of you'd have had the 35i to begin with?

One thing about the LCI front is that it looks a whole lot more modern than the original which now looks rather heavy in comparison. The non-LCIs will rapidly look a touch dated. Having said that it's not worth trading just for this reason.

I'd never get an X3 with M-Sport <shudder> with the current line-up - but I am looking into getting an M235i.

Well, it's done. Ended up doing the deal yesterday. Didn't think I'd like silver, but saw it in person, looks great with the wheels. Even my wife liked it, which is shocking.

Look forward to the ownership.
