Folding door mirrors

Here in the UK you can only power fold the door mirrors in below about 5mph and then they fold out again of their own accord when the speed reaches about 25mph.

Does anyone know if they can be set or coded to fold in at any speed and to remain folded until you chose to reset them?

Yes, I noticed that is a coding option. I also want that coded ASAP as I get the car. I drive a LOT on single track roads, or "barely double track roads" in Wales, and one the very first thing I do in my existing car is to fold the mirrors, and unfold them when I hit town again. In fact, it's one of the electronic gizmo I use most!

It's very unlikely I'll get undertaken by a sheep on these sort of roads :=)

It's not just a UK thing. It's the rest of the world outside of the US and Canada. As far as I know, it's only disabled in North America, which is why coders can re-enable it.

Problem of that "long press" is that it also starts to close the roof shade as well. That remote is really stupid.
Lock the door 5 or 6 times, and the shade is entirely closed. Doh.

I think I had power folding mirrors as early as my first X3 in 2007!

I had my 2012 coded and yes you have to hold the door lock down. You can also just leave your finger on the door handle where you would lock the doors and it'll do the same thing (fold the mirrors). I don't know if the door handle press will also close the roof shade but I guess it would. When you unlock the doors the mirrors auto unfold, which I personally like.

But I just realized that none of this thread answered the OP's question.
