Freshly coded 2013 X3 28i (US)

Hi all- just letting you know I just successfully coded the following using a home made cable and esys:

•Mirror fold on lock/unlock
•Windows up down via fob and CA
•Trunk close via fob/inside button
•iDrive disclaimer delete
•Auto Start/Stop off by default
• Doors auto unlock at ignition off

**trunk feature did take a while to activate--- give it a good 15 minutes, leave the car off- walk away **

The cheat sheet from the F10 coding sticky was used (another site). Very helpful. Thanks to all who have helped me!!!

Here are the videos!

Well done, a very bold step.

Now you should help others who want to try the same.

I have ordered a bare connector, I will wire it and then try it.

LET PEOPLE KNOW THE RISKS INVOLVED AND IT'S NOT EVERY ONES CUP OF TEA UNTIL ENOUGH DATA AND EXPERIENCE IS GENERATED.

Oh there are definite risks - you could totally muck up your total car by selecting wrong values in a wrong module. USE CAUTION people! Go slow, take your time. Code one thing at a time and test it before proceeding.

It is fairly straightforward, but as pointed out there are risks. Also doesn't help that a lot of the ESYS content is in German!

But as long as you have one of the guides that are floating around you wont go wrong and the feeling of permanently disabling Start/Stop is very satisfying.

Taking a backup of the stock settings is a good idea but we will have to explore how to do it. Taking just screen shots with stock settings seems to be the only quick way.

Is there a setting to reduce the sensitivity of the auto headlights?

A setting to turn off the 5min seat belt chime?

There is one to switch off seat belt reminders, I'm not sure about auto headlights though.

Not 100% positive on the headlights - they do seem very sensitive - even in a 100ft tunnel they go on at 70mph!

As for the seatbelt chime - yes! I'll PM you the info as I don't think I can post it here.

I just couldn't post it in quick reply- but I don't think the moderators/rules allow posting and including other forum names/addressed.

Got it. I thought posting any tech info which violates the warranty is the cause of concern. Thanks. Get going.

I prepared my obd 2 connector and ready to jump into other software installation. Need one clarification on esys installation. Step 4 of the procedure says copy est folder to C:\ESysData\e-sys est

Is it C:\ESysData\e-sys\est ?

Please clarify. Thanks.

The psdzdata goes into "C:\ESysData\psdzdata" once you have completely downloaded the package.

Then copy the contents of the "C:\ESysData\psdzdata\swe" folder into the "C:\ESysData\SWE" folder. Once this is done E-sys should bring up
the applicable models when you connect.

EDIT: that's not what you're asking but it might come in useful for the installation.
