Also some new features such as ability to open & close the rear hatch from inside the car (but no close option with the key unfortunately). Also central locking no longer in the center panel, but on each of the front doors.

So far so good. Love the other new features and performance on the 4 cylinder is great. Color is Carbon Black Metallic, but in the sunlight, it's a very dark blue.

Dave
Congrats on the new ride. Can you confirm that you can open and close the hatch from inside the car? I have a 15 as well and I've only been able to release the hatch from inside, not close it.

Is compass available in non extended panel cars? It looks so neat!

I have it with the pro sat nav system with the tft strip on the instrument cluster. I assume this is the minimum spec for the compass but you can display it on the satnav as well.

Yes, confirmed. BUT, I don't know if it's a standard fit or if it came with a package I selected. You can't close it though with the key fob unfortunately. You can also open the hatch by moving your foot/leg just underneath the bumper (like my wife's 328).

Sorry, no idea. I THINK it's part of the HUD package.

Stunning color combo. I have an 11 X3 and the interior updates are amazing on yours.
Love the X3 embossed seats as others have noted. Enjoy!

sharp looking car! I had a carbon black 2002 (e46) m3 ... special place in my heart for that color .. looks black in overcast & low light but the blue really comes out under direct illumination .. enjoy the car!

Hey Rob,

Sorry, missed your post/question.

These aren't quite the same Pirelli's that shipped with my '11 X3. Those were the Cinturato's you mention. I hated those. They lasted less than 25k miles and got SUPER noisy, so I ditched them for 3rd Gen Bridgestone RFT's which were great tires. Quiet & pretty decent for winter.

The Pirelli's that came with my '15 X3 are:

Pirelli P-Zero, 20", 275/35/20 in the rear and 245/40/20 in the front (RFT's). Frankly, these tires are definitely not good 4 season tires. I have some Pirelli winters that I'll be putting on in a few weeks (non-RFT).

You need to hold the button to close the hatch from the inside. It takes a second or two.

Funny, the P7 Cinturato are rated #1 or 2 in TireRack for 245/45-19 size yet all the recent reviews are horrible in the Grand Touring A/S category while the Michelin MXM4 ZP are rated lower but have better reviews (weird).

I might look into the Continental DWS (non-RFT) route best overall (cost, traction in Wet/Snow/Dry). Started to look at the Ultra-High-Performance RFT category Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS and Pirelli P-Zero Nero A/S.

You didn't get tire/wheel insurance I'm guessing ?

The Cinturato's that came with my 2011 did over 40,000 miles before having to be replaced. The Michelin's that replaced them did 11,000 miles in 8 months before being worn down to the UK legal limit (I have a company car so don't get any choice in what they put on). Funnily enough they reverted back to the Pirelli's this time rather than the "economy" Michelins.

But they were the Cinturato P7 all-season ? since there's so many variants of Cinturato and how were in the wet/snow

The x-line and m sport can be combined. Adding the m sport forces you to lose adaptive cruise and a few other sensors for parking.
