What 'essentials' will be in your glove compartment?

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum, and have just ordered what I call my 'No Compromise' car in UK. An X3 30d in Deep Sea Blue, Oyster with all the options I wanted.

I've been reading many of the forum posts over the past couple of months to help me decide, so thank you all very much for your comments and insights into this great car.

When I get my car... hopefully sometime in December, I'll want to have just the right stuff in it to 'accessorise it'... Either in the glove compartment or in the boot or whatever, you know, those things you're probably going to need at some point on some journey, and I made up this list... Tell me what you think, and what you might add to it from your experience :

Torch
Blanket
Notepad & pen
Tissues
Swiss army knife
Rope / bungy cord
12DC to AC Inverter
Coin purse

Cheers
Ron

A couple bottles of bottled water and you got yourself a survival pack Ron. The items you listed seem pretty complete but I don't think they'll all fit in your glove compartment.

PS: Some jumper cables would be good too.

If he got the storage package he can keep a lot of things under the cargo area where the storage accessories are packaged and stored at delivery.

I've not asked about the HK price, as I'll be moving to UK in December, so have ordered one there. My underderstanding though it that it would be US list + 80% new car tax... not for the faint hearted !

Thanks for the extra suggestions for stuff in the car. I like the idea of the empty bottle in case of long traffic jams, though I'd probably just stand on the centre armrest and use the the open sunroof
