Hi guys

Since a few days, I can no longer play my iPhone using the BMW USB cable... I must ALSO plug-in the AUX cable (!)

My car just came back from BMW for a small repair, could this new problem come from a new firmware ?

I don't have NAV nor 6NR

Can you play your iPhone only by USB ???

Not sure what you mean by "BMW USB" cable as the BMW Y cable has USB and AUX and both need to be connected if you don't have nav. A standard white USB cable will only work if you have the tech package (US) or a nav package

i thought you could only plug the usb to get music from the iphone, as if it was a usb external hard disk...

Yes, I think the USB passes the control of tracks and information to iDrive. The AUX is for sound. You need both if iDrive can't decode the digital feed into sound

I swear I was able to play my iPhone with the black BMW Y-cable before the dealer made the repairs, only by connecting the USB plug !
With NAV or 6NR... And now, I can't ?!?!
Going to check out with the dealer as it looks as I'm the only one on the forum that was able to make it work like that before...

You may have accidentally uncovered the fact that all F25s come with a combox but it's switched off unless you pay for it?? Yours was switched on by mistake in this scenario and the dealer corrected it. Total conjecture!
