Damn glad I did and wish I didn’t see this post. After reading the post on here it got me curious.
So I went out to my car today and I guess I’m a victim as well of the shitty tear. Mind you my car is 17 m package with barely 20k miles and yes already out of warranty Now it’s a eye sore whenever I get in and out of the car FML |

Not necessarily. The constant compressing (sitting) and uncompressing (getting out) stresses the material. A seat cover will only act as a contact barrier. It will have very little affect on pressure.

I had this issue on my 2005 X3 and again on my 2017 X3. I replaced the seat cover on the 05 myself - through a shop - and had BMW replace it on the newer car, under warranty. When they took the seat out to repair it, they damaged the door sill - huge scratches in the paint and GOUGES out of the plastic around the kickplate. Never said a word to me.. I found it when I got home. I was furious that they let me take my car home without telling me that they damaged it. They repaired it, but lost my business.
