Fob Question - just curious
With key less entry and ignition start stop. If the Fob battery dies, I understand I can use the hardware key stored within the Fob to open the doors but how do you start the ignition since there seems to be no starter ignition for the hardware key?

At one point BMW published about 27 short videos on how to work all or most features on the X3. It was covered in one of those videos. However I have looked high and low on the BMW site and cannot find the videos anymore!! I know they were there a couple months back. I'll keep looking as all the videos were nicely done and had some good content.

Good find!! Man I looked everywhere for those.
Also check out page 33 of the manual. However in reading that, it seems that the RFID is actually in the FOB and not in the key as I originally thought. So the actual key may be only good for unlocking the doors and the only way to start is with the FOB, and in an emergency it needs to be help next to the key symbol on the steering column for 10 seconds for you to be able to start the truck. |
