I'd start by reviewing the schematics which will show what colors are for the factory subs

A couple of things:

1) The standard/base stereo in the US was the HIFI system (option A676). It's a full analog system, and you can upgrade the amp with any offering from the MATCH UP7, Bavsound, or BimmerTech. Any will have a dedicated sub out, amongst many other things.

2) The upgraded stereo in the US was the Harmon Kardon (option A688). It's a digital input into the amp (MOST), with analog outputs to the speakers (of course). I think Bavsound now makes amps that integrate with the MOST system, but they're not cheap.

So, setting aside the amp thing, to me it looks like you have standard HIFI system (The strands of Green/Brown with Green/Red, and Yellow/Blue with Grey/White, and Black/Yellow with Black/Blue are all headunit inputs).

If so, the relevant speaker wires are:

Front Left Woofer - Brown/White (+) and Black/Green (-)
Front Right Woofer - Green/Blue (+) and Blue/Yellow (-)

Since you said you're new, the first color is the primary color, and the second is the strip, so the positive for the front left woofer is a brown wire, with a white stripe.

I'd have to look more to see which wire is the appropriate one for the remote.

that said, you could do something like this, and have a plug and play solution:

Good luck!

That is the simplest way to go. Hooked up my powered sub in 1 hour. Do a search for it and find your positive ignition connection behind the rear passenger taillight panel for power.
