I'm picking up my new 2012 X3 on Friday. I want to add window tint without it looking too tricked out. I was thinking 20% for the back windows and 35% for the front.

Also, I was going to add an amp and a small box with a 10" sub woofer. Should I be worried about dropping off my new car at the local stereo shop? Any questions I should ask?

Can't help on the tint. If you are going to do any changes on the stereo system and are not comfortable doing it yourself I would definitely find a shop that has experience with BMW systems. First you might try Bavarian Soundwerks (BSW)who specialize in BMW after market. Rather than a small sub box you may want to think about replacing the present woofers with after market. There are companies that do make "flat" woofers to fit as replacements, BSW being one of them and I believe Earthquake maybe another. With a little googling you can probably find them. My understanding is that BMW systems are a bit picky in component matching.

I have the Alpine white. I went 35% front and 25% back. Looks great. Can really tell the difference in the summer reflecting the sun. I would attach some pictures but don't know how.
