I wonder if anyone can help. We have the factory fitted tow hitch on our car and it has jammed half in half out and gives a tow hitch error message constantly. We contacted our local garage and apparently this is quite a common fault caused by gears in the mechanism breaking. BMW do not sell parts so you have to replace the whole tow hitch at a cost of £1500. We have the car on PCP so we need to fix it before returning it but we never plan to tow anything so grudge spending £1500. Has anyone had this issue and found another way around it? We never plan to tow anything my partner just seen the button in the boot and thought he would press it to see what happened!
