I havent heard a lot back from the dealer but will give them a call later today. I was curious to know if any of the forum members who had a Week 16 build date has received any updates with regards to their build status?
Is it only me who keeps counting down the hours till I get an update?

I exclude Horsey from this as his car seems like it is going to be hand built and hence the delay. Am so jealous !! (not)

Mine was wk14 build; dealer called me on 16th April, I chose the registration number plate on 18th, and collecting car tomorrow – 25th. On that basis yours should be ready for collection wk 19— w/c 6thMay. Patience is a virtue I don’t posses and the last few weeks has been hell………. Good luck.

Much as I would wish it i be true, I think your estimate for swfrom's car is optimistic ... :-(

I am still waiting for 5055 on my car which was supposed to be week 16 and now is showing as week 18 build

... And unless it goes 5055 soon it won't be a week 18 either!

I am still waiting for an explanation, but I am guessing it's related to engine size ... I am guessing yours was a 20d?

Its only the 20D as I couldn't justify the larger engine, having said that options brought it up to 30d pricing. Ordered mid-November and was told Mid May delivery, but possibly end April. In January I learned that MY13 model build would start in wk14, so asked to be moved back 2 weeks to get the specs (Drive Performance Control) and was then given mid-May delivery again, despite the extra 2week shift. Very pleasantly surprised at how quickly things moved since the start of build. Maybe your delay is due to shortage of large engine/components?

That's rather pessimistic based on my experience, or maybe I was just lucky. Mine tokk 3 weeks from biuld date to delivery, scheduled for tomorrow. I have a feeling they play the Amazon game and give you a worst case delivery scenario so you are really chuffed when they call to say its arrived early! In my opinion a 3 week turnaround from build date to delivery ain't bad—at least that's the case with me (though tell you tomorrow if it works) -picking it up mid-day whoopeeee

That's exactly right - I would have loved to have the 30D, but then I would have lost out on the options. Auto was the main priority and I also took the Visibilty Pack as I felt Xenons were a must-have, Access Pack, Reverse assist with top view (a must have to park the beast), extended storage, Sun protection glass and a few other minor features - all in Alpine White!

I reckon yours should come w/c 14th May so just try and survive the next few weeks

Congratulations Rich4 and cbs9, I bet it mustve been a nightmare waiting since November but it will be worth it.

I am waiting for a call back from the dealer to see if the build status has indeed changed to 5055 or still at 1200. Finger crossed !

Have a 20D on order too in Black but not a lot of options other than Auto transmission, Xenons and Bluetooth.

Latest update received from the dealer, it still is supposedly is 1200 but the specification is fixed and I cannot change my order... so they say it is due to change to 5055 imminently.

I am due to get a call back first thing next week.

I ordered X3 on 21 December 2011, made some changes in January/February, and is being delivered to me this Friday.

I think its has been at the dealer a couple of weeks, so that makes it about three months earlier than predicted back in December. Which is nice.

Hi Guys,

Spoke to my dealer on Fri (20th) and having ordered my X3 late March I was told that it is due to go into production this week. Will be amazed if proves to be true as that would mean delivery in late May early June by my calculations. Way ahead of the Sept I was originally told.

Fingers crossed proves correct but won't hold my breath until confirmed this week.
