Door tries to unlock too many times?

Does anyone else have this happen? I'll use the remote to unlock the doors before I get in it. As I grab the handle to open the door, I hear the car clicking in the back, sounds like either the filler cap or rear doors trying to unlock again...

Not heard of this but could be linked to comfort access which unlocks on touch of the door handle. I assume you don't have CA (or didn't ask for it ) and I would've thought CA would do nothing if the car was already unlocked

Ours does the same thing. Maybe the fuel cap only unlocks once the door is opened? Not sure but I'm not concerned.

Just curious...why are you using the remote to unlock?

Penso, I'm guessing you have never used Comfort Access

Ever have the door not open because it's not detecting your key and you're standing there like an idiot. So you put your body a little closer and try again.. I just don't like that slight delay even when it does detect your key for it to open that occurs sometimes.

I sometimes use the key fob to open it, sometimes I don't..

Here's the thing: you have comfort access, you have the fob on your person, and you approach the car, which is now unlocked (maybe because you just pressed the unlock button). At this point, when you touch the door handle to open the door, CA may re-lock it, depending on how and what you touch.

I had Comfort Access on my e90 and it worked great, no noticeable delay and no body wiggle required. It sounds like the current version has taken some of the comfort out of CA.

This was with my 2008 M3, maybe that's why the current key fob's are so much bigger haha. I haven't really tested the range with the new X3's key fob.

When I opened the door by just grasping the handle (while it's locked) I still notice the "click click... click click" in the back side as if it's trying to open something repeatedly (about two times).
