I've decided to change my x-line to an m-sport. At least the wheels are nice. I'd rather pay a it more and be happy with what I get.

Good decision. The MSport looks so much better in the flesh than in the photos. The photos flatten out the front bumper, the contours in real life make a big difference.

Funny you should say that .. I'm thinking of doing the same.

When I looked at the spec of my xline then compare the price of the msport I'm only a grand apart. If I added the 19s to xline it would only be £200 difference

Just waiting for my sales guy to update the quotes and I'll make a decision

What does M-sport bring over X-line in basic trims.. I couldn't afford so didn't compare..?

Really in all honesty ... Not much .. Financially we'd probably be better off looking a basic SE models

The wheel debacle just got me looking .. Really I'm happy with xline but would like the gadgets that come with pro-nav ... I know daft ..

Did you get the mocha interior ? If so how is it ?

From the UK price list:

xLine (In addition / replacement to SE)
18" light alloy wheels Y-spoke style 607
Aluminium effect: kidney grille slats, webs/blades in air inlets, embellisher in front and rear bumper, side sill cover
Door sill finishers with 'BMW xLine' designation
Exhaust tailpipe with Matt Chrome finisher
Exterior trim, Satin Aluminium
Interior trim, Dark Copper, High-gloss
Luggage compartment sill in stainless steel
Sport leather steering wheel
Vehicle key with insert in Pearl Chrome
Vertical embellishers on B and C pillars, Black, High-gloss
'X' embossing on the head restraint and application in the backrest (only with LUSQ, LUNE, LUNF)
RRP from £33,570 inc. VAT
+ £1,500 over xDrive20d SE

M Sport (In addition to SE)
19" light alloy M Double-spoke style 622 M
Door sill finishers with M designation
Drive Performance Control with ECO PRO, Comfort,Sport and Sport+ modes (30d/35d)
Exterior trim, High-gloss Shadowline
Headlining, Anthracite
Interior trim, Brushed Aluminium
M aerodynamic bodystyling
M gearshift knob (manual transmission)
M leather steering wheel
Performance Control
Roof rails, High-gloss Shadowline
Run-flat tyres
Servotronic power steering (30d/35d)
Sport automatic transmission (30d/35d)
Sport seats, front
Sport suspension
Steering wheel paddles (30d/35d)
Variable Sport Steering (30d/35d)
RRP from £35,070 inc. VAT + £3,000 over SE

So, pretty much all cosmetic for both kits but both are an improvement on the looks over the SE. I find that colour has a big influence on how pronounced the aesthetics are.

For example, with some colours the differences between the SE and xLine are hardly visible (white, mineral silver, space grey and black - have to look quite hard to see the differences).

I think the melbourne red looks best with the xLine trim where the silver trim really sets things off i.e. I prefer the xLine to the Msport for this colour. I think the same is true for DSB.

For some colours, especially white, the Msport trim looks really special and a significant improvement over both SE and xLine.

I've changed my order to an M-sport following the wheel debacle. Due to get built in the 1st week of Dec. The spec is :-

3.0L M-sport
Black Sapphire
Black Leather
Fine Anthracite Trim
Media Package
Interior Comfort package
M-Sport plus package
LED Headlight
VDC
Towbar
Folding Mirrors
Seat heating rear / steering wheel

The price is a touch more than an X-line with the 19" wheels. Not long to wait now.

Nice, very similar option list to mine. If it's being built 1st week of December when are you expecting to get it?

Excellent

I assume that with an enhanced residual it wouldn't be much more per month ?

When I looked at adding 19's to my xline the difference was only about £200 between that and an msport

I would have thought the gmfv would have cancelled that out?

Unless of course bmw expects the xline to hold it's value better than an msport ?

I really miss the finance tool on the bmw site as it was great for working out payments and options and the effect on finance

I am due delivery end of jan so may ask my dealer what the status is, as half tempted to add an option or two.

My spec is

3.0d m sport
Space grey
Black leather
Silver roof bars and window trim
LED headlights
Pro nav
Head up display
Reversing camera
Speed limit display
Sun protection glass

For £155 I'm tempted by the heated steering wheel and I do like the sunroof but where do you stop

I've got the sunroof and the heated steering wheel at the moment. I'm not getting the sunroof again, but I'd miss the wheel. For me, the VDC is an essential option.

I wanted the m sport pack but didn't want the 20 inch wheels, I love the look but was concerned that without vdc it would be too hard so I can understand you going for that.

Yep, heated steering wheel is excellent. Sounds like a gimmick until you get it (it was included in the cold weather pack on my first X3)

I get my new X3 3rd Dec.

MSport
Space Grey
Saddle
Burr Walnut
Aluminium rails and window surrounds
Reversing camera
Moon roof
VDC

and a nice engine...

I've been cleaning up my current car ready to be returned. The McLaren 650s I drove 10 days ago at Millbrook at 175mph has unfortunately spoilt me.
