help me decide on winter wheel choice

OK..I know this has been discussed at length already, and I'm likely to get a variety of opinions, but choosing a winter wheelset is becoming a bigger headache than my original order was! Here are the 3 leading contenders-all from Tirerack as in my searching, they seem to have the best value-tire will be Blizzak WS60's on 18" wheels...
#1 contender: Motegi Racing MR118
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...XL&qty_front=4
#2: Sport Muscle shift
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...XL&qty_front=4
#3: Erbus 106
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...XL&qty_front=4

In general, what opinions on black rims with my Deep Sea Blue paint? I like the look, but the on-line "view on vehicle" is not exactly great...do think it will hide the inevitable dirt and crud better than my summer 309's.

Opinions, please!

Thanks

D

Make sure the wheels have the right hub size. If not you will need plastic hub rings which are not the best IMO. 72.6mm

I like the third ones, remind me of my winter wheels (from tire rack) on my C63. I might recommend against black though, one thing I found in Chicago is that all the salt makes your wheels turn white! mine are the black/silver combo like that third set you posted and look great clean but one day on salt roads and they look pretty bad. I would almost say go black in summer and silver in winter.

Do you have summer tires on your 309s or did you stick with the all season ones they came with?

I prefer the #1 choice, the Motegis.

1 or 3. Don't like 2 at all.

Hub size? I don't even see that info anywhere on the Tirerack site-somewhere here I had read that the wheels needed to have 5x120 bolt pattern and ~45mm off set, which these 3 all have...thanks for that headsup-I will make sure my choice matches this.

Mako-never thought that the road salt would leave a white residue...thanks for messing up my entire thought process......

And my current wheels are the 309's with the summer performance...soon to be worthless in the Michigan winter I'm afraid...

thats right the 309s had that choice, I still can't believe BMW didn't make summer performance an option with the M Sport package! only way to get the 369M is with all season which I will most likely leave on during the summer, not worth the $1600 to get summer performance, plus in the tests I have seen they really just help in braking, the track tests and acceleration tests were almost identical (all season to summer performance) but it did stop like 8 feet shorter with summers...

Email Gus Liszewski at gus@tirerack.com and see if the hub are made for BMW X3

I think the first set will look best
the last set looks like they are for a benz.
