Hard to believe the numbers. Based on this, there were 199 X3 28d models sold over a 3 year period. Or at least that is how I read it.

looks like diesel only, so hardly anyone in the US will have to worry about it. almost non existent here.

Sold my diesel a while ago (mid 2019), along with a few other people on that list I believe.

Got a gas F31, sold that and now I'm in a M240

Thanks for the update tho

I am not sure if only a handful of models were affected? My VIN does not pull up any recalls yet, although maybe since alerts to owners have not begun yet, it may take time to show up. Any idea of what changes the redesigned HPFP has? I understand they already redesigned it once with beefier roller.

I'm smack in the middle of those years' range. Hoping to get a brand new fuel pump for free

These numbers are likely affected vehicles for a given model.

F25 X3 28d had very low sales - I rarely see another one on the road in Bay Area. It has decent fuel economy, but IMO, N47 does not provide reasonable power output for small SAV.

It works great for my SO as daily
I do not feel comfortable on a mountain passing lane.
M57 on E70 does better job

I'll wait to find out. With only 199 affected, I'm probably not affected. Though who knows, I may be the only one in Oklahoma

Just had a road trip so my car is now over 101000 miles. With the chip shortage, now is not the time to buy another car if I don't need to.

sadly I am affected by this! I have a 2015 328d with 64000 miles.

literately just found out about it today. let me add that I am clueless about cars and just learned about the Forums and registered!
The engine light came on and I took my car to a recommended mechanic by my neighbor. They said the intake manifold needs to be replaced and gave me a quote of $2k.
I'm wondering if this is related to the recall issue. any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks.

Uhhh did they say why the intake manifold needs to be replaced? Is it cracked?

I do not know too much about diesels in these cars but I am wondering how they got to that conclusion from a check engine light.

I would call your nearest dealership with your VIN on hand and see if they can look up your car if it is affected for the recall.

Another thing I would do is go to your local auto parts store (oreilys, autozone) and see if they can get your codes read for free and then post what the codes are.

I have never heard of an intake manifold needing to be replaced on a car with such low miles.

Yeah, I'd call BS on that as well. Make them show you what's actually "broken" on the car before you authorize any repair.

That's why we call them stealerships...

The mechanic said they are not able to tell which part of the manifold is the issue and because of that they'll have to order the whole thing which is $1200. I took it to another mechanic and he also said there is an issue with the intake manifold.

The dealership said the recall applies to my car and I have an appointment for Monday. Maybe they'll find out the issue with the manifold and give me more info.
