Has anyone upgraded their speakers?

I have not opted for the pro hi-fi as i thought i would upgrade it at a later stage. The basic setup is extremely basic (i only counted 5 speakers in total) and was wondering if anyone had upgraded theirs - if so what model/make did u opt for? Moreover there seem to be space for extra tweeters just above the door handles (a small parallelogram black plastic cover that pops out), is that where the Pro HiFi fits their tweeters? I'm a home audiophile but when it comes to car setups i'm out of my depth...

I don't know if swiss specs are the same than italians, we can choose three different "flavors":

1) Basic
2) Amplified
3) Pro

I have solution 2) and I have the tweeters exactly where you locate the possible place where you want to fix your upgraded set-up. Sound is ok, even if I've heard much better in other non BMW cars, even with the basic solutions. Hi-Fi seems not to be a priority for BMW.

By the way, 5 speakers count doesn't seem the correct one. There shall be one in the center of the "console" (just at the base of the front windshield) and, I believe, at least a subwoofer below the driver seat.

Yes, that is where we have our tweeters. Probably easier to upgrade your setup. In your part of the world look at Rainbow, Focus and Morel. You probably could find a really good coaxial replacement speaker.
