BMW KEY2JOY, anyone else got these?

I bought these special key covers even though the car I ordered is still not in production...

Sorry if images are big.

Glassfibre is for my key and BMW Welt image is wife's key, she wanted that.

If you find a way to order them in the US please share. I tried to order them but they will not ship to US for some reason.

"Aluminized Glasfiber Silver Grey"

Looks great - hope they show up in the US soon.
Glasfiber is fine, but I'm waiting for the full-race carbon fiber version.
It's got to be good for at least a few 10ths in the quarter mile and a tenth of a "G" of lateral acceleration.

Other variations available in the UK:

Is it so that you can't order these from UK to US? Gladly UK to Finland worked ok

I was thinking the carbon version, but to my eye the silverish fiber glass looks better. Leather was my choice for wife, but she turned it down and wanted the image.

I think these are quite nice, you can differ keys within family without any heavy keyrings causing increased fuel consumption.

Key2Joy arrived

My Aluminized Glassfibre cover has arrived from the BMW Store on Amazon UK. The barcode number is 4 050268 007262 not sure if that will be any use to US folk.

Also ordered a Key Sheath in leather official BMW part number 51 21 0 414 778

Update on my Amazon order

Looking at the invoice these parts were supplied by Mini Battersea. Www.minibattersea.co.uk and mail@minibattersea.co.uk

Maybe overseas folk could make contact with them.

Tried http://www.minibattersea.co.uk/ and it seems to be an inactive "parked" domain

Mini Battersea seems to be a "Used Rover Mini" dealer in Battersea.
I'd hate to order a decorative BMW key panel and have a used Rover turn up on my doorstep.

Update on mini battersea

Mini Battersea exists it is part of Mini Park Lane. Both are combined BmW/Mini dealerships.

Try www.bmwparklane.com/service/

There is a link to online sales on the left that will take you to their eBay and Amazon stores or you could call or email them.

Agree that a used Rover would be a nasty surprise.

BMW Key2Joy

I have tried to find these with no luck other than on Amazon UK. Does anyone who has purchased a key cover have a part number? Are these actually from BMW or some after market company? Thanks.

They are genuine BMW parts - or rather there is nothing in the packaging to suggest they aren't. There is no numbering on the pack other than the barcode. I will have a look if there is a number printed into the plastic tonight.

I wonder if they are something dealers have been given as "gifts" to sell/give away to customers on a semi-unofficial basis.

On the first post in this topic you can see image with bar code numbers. Also you can see that they are "Made in Germany", so they should be BMW made...

BMW Key2Joy

I have had the parts manager at my dealer serach the BMW sites in several countries including Germany without success. He tells me he needs a BMW part number. So if anyone can find it please let me know. I don't know if these can be ordered from Amazon UK and sent to USA.
Thanks

The seller on the Amazon UK Website is BMW_Direct. From their FAQs:

2.3 Do you deliver outside the UK?
We currently only deliver to UK mainland.

Since when Finland became part of UK mainland?

Just had a look at the cover - no part numbers stamped on it.

Looked at the invoice again from BMW Dealer and the part number is ZKEY2 which doesn't look like a proper number to me.

Sorry, but for once it looks like the Brits and, seemingly, our unknown colony of Finland might have got something special!

Hi all,

I'm from Portugal and didn't have any trouble ordering the Key2Joy from amazon.co.uk

The email I got says:

Today Park Lane Ltd shipped item(s) in your order...

With a little help of still having an address in the UK, I ordered one from Amazon UK, had it shipped to UK and then got someone to send it over to me. Got the brown leather one. Attached photo does not do it justice, but still disappointed in it. Should have gone carbon fibre! However, hopefully I can claim the first to have one in the USA?
