Flares in the house!

Got told yesterday evening by my wife that the revs are flaring on start up in her car also. It looks like a trip to the Judd lounge at the end of September...

I'll be joining as well. We should all roll into one of the Chicagoland BMW dealers together....

Perillo already has the "J-Lounge", named in honor of Judd Holland. It's fitted with HDTV, iPads, an espresso machine, 3 Le Corbusier recliners and sound proof walls for when the tech says a) they all do that b) the parts are on back order from Germany c) it's not doing it for us like you described...

But, you forgot to mention the complementary Valium dispenser and the cardiac resuscitators for when customers whose cars are beyond the warrantee period get billed.

I can only hope this is fixed on the 2012 models. I've seen people reporting this for as long as the 2011 models have been out. Surprised it still hasn't been fixed.

Not to worry. The update should be out in the next week. And if not included in the 2012s, then so be it. You'll have to go get your car serviced for 35 minutes. Wa, wa, wa, wa.

Well, the end of September and the first 10 days of October have passed. Has anyone been told that the software patch is available, or gotten a new ETA?

I've started to get the weird RPM spikes sometime in the last month so I'm also curious to know if anyone has heard of anything.

I don't have any information but will be getting my oil changed this Saturday so I'll definitely ask the service dept if there's any new SW patches to fix the issue.

I was in last week having the trailer hitch installed. They said the patch is coming sometime this fall. That's it, no date.

I also had the RPM surging on startup issue when I first picked up my car, this only happened on a cold start, outside temps were in the 60 - 70 F range as I'm im Southern California. I had a Sat radio install where they had to update system software (but I don't know if that's just the Entertainment system software and not the engine control software), and they also reset the "Engine Adapatation") and the issue has gone away. Also, since the service I took a long multi-day trip to the mountains with outdoor temps in the 20 - 60 F range and still did not have any issues with RPM surging.
