iPod storage (cold & hot weather)

I know there are likely threads on the topic of displaying album art via transferring files from USB to music collection hard drive.

I find the easiest solution to my desire to have album art show is to plug an iPod into USB outlet in centre armrest storage box.

My question is this. Has anyone experienced any problems leaving iPod in vehicle in extremely cold or hot conditions? Does the unit fail?

I have never had a temp related issue with my iPods in the cars, kept in them year around. Since I bought my first one in '06 for an X3. I do use the Nanos which are flash memory. The Classic with a spinning drive my be a different story.
The only issues I've ever had were cable/SW related and they have been rare.

iPod storage (temperature extremities)

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I live in the "frozen tundra" of Alberta. Apple does not like temperature extremes. Found this nugget of info.

A few nights ago when I got home I left my iPhone 5 in the car on a 25 degree night. A few hours later I went to get it and it was very cold and very dead. As soon as it warmed up it came to life. I suspect the iPods behave the same and I also suspect it is due to Li battery performance at very low temps.

I've had my 2014 X3 since April and thus far haven't experienced any issues with leaving the iPod in the center console. Heat/Cold haven't hurt it a bit!
