Advice: Weather Tech vs BMW Rubber Floor Mats

Trying to decide what would be the smarter purchase based on features. Price doesn't matter to me.

Would like to hear from owners who have the BMW All-Season (rubber) floor mats as well as folks who have bought the Weather Tech rubber custom mats or liners.

Also, if anyone has the BMW cargo liner with collapsible box, does the box disappear into the floor mat or is it removable? I'll be throwing a stroller in the back often and wouldn't want to damage the box when it's collapsed.

Sound off with your recommendations/opinions.

We have the Weathertech front and rear floor mats as well as the BMW cargo liner with folding box; ( which is removable).

The Weathertech mats fit perfectly and seem more durable than the cargo mat. Having owned 2 other sets of Weathertech mats for other vehicles, our only complaint was that they are not as deep and don't have the same carpet coverage as our set for a Murano and Maxima.

Overall, I think Weathertech is the best.

I have the BMW all weather mats and really like them. I also have the BMW cargo liner as well and think that it does its job well. I keep the folding box stored right under the liner. You don't even know its there.

Great advice guys. After reading all of the reviews and opinions here, I ended up pulling the trigger on a little bit of everything.

BMW rubber up front and WeatherTech liner for the rear seats. Bought the BMW cargo liner w/collapsible box for the boot.

Cargo Liners

WeatherTech do a Tan coloured cargo liner which should fit in well if you have gone for the Beige interior. I have ordered a Tan one, not received it yet, will see what it is like.
http://www.weathertech.com/bmw/2012/x3/cargo-liner/

Stainless Steel rear bumper protector - bought the following:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/BMW-X3-F25-Ed...item25739614d6
received it but not fittede yet as do not have X3 until next week.
It seems really good quality, I needed one the covered the lip of the bumper since my current X3 is all scratched there and need to protect the new one when it comes.

Weather Tech Cargo Liner - TAN

If this is Tan then its been out in the sun too long. I would call it mid brown or chocolate, it is nothing like the tan or beige in a BMW X3. Weather Techs brochures and web site show the colour is Tan, so be warned Weather Techs Marketing Manager is colour blind. Attached photo of it, plus their Brochure plus a sheet of white paper to show the colour balance is OK.

Yeah, let us know how the bumper protector works. I'd order one, but after international shipping and customs, it might not be worth it. Anyone know of something like this bumper protector from a US company/distributor?

Hey guys, first post here.
I have the BMW all-weather mats (dealership threw in the bmw mats as part of the deal) but I opted to buy Weathertech front/rear mats and the cargo liner anyway. I found that the Weathertech all-season mats have much deeper channels which should keep the snow/water contained pretty well; this was an important feature for me since I'll be dealing with lots of snow and slush in the coming months. I had the BMW all-weather mats for my 3-series that had a similar triangular design as the current X3 mats - but always had issues when melted snow began to accumulate in the winter (the hem of my pants would always drag along the mat and get soaked). Not an issue if you don't have to deal with a Canadian winter.

The WT cargo liner is pretty nice, fits perfectly, and has cut outs for the tie downs, left-side net, and right-side pocket. I can post some pics of everything... if my new account will let me

I ordered and just received Weather Tech All - Weather mats. With past BMWs, the factory ones always worked great. BMW does not however have these same floor mats for X3, so I ordered from Weather Tech. These, however seem to be cut short for the driver's side. That is the only one I put in place. I will stick with factory rubber mats that came with the vehicle -- although not as channeled for water -- at least the fit is perfect! In Western Canada we need to protect the carpeting from snow and salt as best as we can.
As for the rear mat -- mine was included with the purchase. I have the BMW one with bumper protector. The protector actually folds under the mat. When you need to use it, just pull it over the rear bumper. I do not plan on using it -- I am careful! The box does fold flat -- I keep mine in my basement. Hope this helps!

I have the BMW all-weathers and after a car wash I really dislike them. The front section near the gas pedal is a smooth surface, and your feet slides all around when wet. The weathertech looks to be the same.

The black rubber mat from BMW works much better though. It has horizontal slats all the way up to the front and prevents your feet from sliding around. I have that in my E46 and it works great.

Beige Interior and Stainless steel protector

Stainless Steel Protector
Works really well. They look exactly like the photos in the link I posted, just covers the edge (where I got all the scratches on my last X3). Easy to fit, I put a few bits of masking tape to guide the edges, glad I did since the glue on the foam strip is very strong, fixed as soon as touches.

Beige Interior
My cock up, I didnt check before ordering just assumed it was the same as last X3 which is beige throughout. No the idiots at BMW stuck black in bits of the boot, floor, sides and back of rear seat. Looks stupid, as if they had run out of beige material on the production line and just grabbed what was to hand. Makes it look cheap. But like the last X3 a lot of the materials inside are fairly downmarket. The Audi and the Jaguar both cost the same as the X3 ($60K in UK for 20dSE) but both are much better quality. BMW might be better technically, but its not built as well.

WeatherTech imho better by a mile. I looked at BMW's and they looked cheap compared to WeatherTech. I went with regular, but I wish I went with digital liner.
