I'm just wondering how it can take 10 weeks (2,5months) to deliver it from USA to Scandinavia ? What is the route what they are using ?

It s due to American customs, they always mix Sweden and Switzerland. So his car will be delivered here in Switzerland in place of Sweden. But no worries I will be personnaly very glad to drive it from here to Sweden

SANK CH: Thanks for your offer, but I hope that BMW, being a German company know the difference. Luckily it is not the US Customs who will send my vehicle.

TurboT: You should know that Trollhattan - the home of SAAB - is in Sweden - not "Scandinavia".

My estimate of what will happen to my car:
-2 weeks within the factory for checks and possibly a missing part or two. (I worked for SAAB)
-one week for transport to the harbour
-one week waiting for the ship.
-two weeks at sea - to Rotterdam?
-one week waiting for final transport

That is still only seven weeks. I hope that BMW are playing the same game as the airline companies - having a margin.

Yes I know Sweden (have visited there many times), I just used the word Scandiavia, because same delivery time seems to be to Finland too (September). I have placed on order on April (3.0d).

Didn't know this was a option. Is the Carbon Fiber trim also included?

Hi Coolesnce,

The M performance parts were shown on youtube 1 or 2 weeks ago. There is a topic on this forum with pictures. Some of the parts are listed in the german price list 08/2014. German source mention that the parts will be ready to be ordered this month (june). My dealer told me he took note and will he will inform me once he got a quote on it.

The carbon trim can be ordered separately.

Here is a quick update.

The production date has been once again delayed. Now in week 32. And I won't get it before week 39

The only good point; next monday I m going to test drive the X4 30d and then the M4

I took a test ride with the X4 35i yesterday (about 120 miles).

I was very impressed of it and I can't wait to get mine (35d) in 5-6 weeks!!!

Mine is on the boat !

I tested the X4 MSport 30d white (see: "X4 M Sport arrived at my dealer") last friday (11th july), and it's very good.

I am not really disappointed:

- Very comfortable
- Spacious
- Beautiful finish
- Ergonomic inside
- Very beautiful outside

I do not find it defect (even the back visibility is good).

In brief: PERFECT!...For me...

I ordered my X4 on March 8th, and I saw my dealer today, who told me that it will be delivered last week of July.

el do33. Sorry I do not know. It is electrically operated (normally hidden behind the rear cover). You do have some funny laws in the US - it is (at least it was) OK with a temporary tow hook with questionable function, but as soon it is a factory installed option, very strict requirements come in to play.

I have too ordered electric tow hook with backup camera to be able to connect trailer easier.

Question: Can the electric tow hook opened via remote control ? Would be very nice functionality.

TurboT: operated by switch in trunk opening. With comfort opening that is not a problem.

perseval: I hope mine is on the same boat - I believe all go to Rotterdam - and that it will not sink

Ok, I have ordered comfort access too, so trunk can be opened by foot, but tow hook needs to be operated via switch in the trunk. But I think I saw some youtube video some time ago (cannot remember what bmw it was) where the tow hook was coming up just by pressing the remote control. So then you would not need to open trunk at all.

Hi everybody, going to jump into the discussion a bit, as far as I know the tow hook can only be operated through the button in the trunk. But, maybe it's possible to code something that let's you control it with the key. Don't know for sure though.

My fathers x4 3.0d was delivered yesterday, truly amazing car. Very spacious, and agile. Posted some pictures and some more details in a post this morning. Hope all of you will get to enjoy your cars very soon!
