Technical Service Bulletins

Thought it would be useful to have a TSB thread for those encountering issues.

Given the recent number of posts regarding moisture/flooding in people's cars I searched but didn't find specific to water/moisture penetration due to rain. I'll take whatever TSB's are posted going forward and consolidate them here.

Auto MD TSB List

TSB & Recall LINK

Although it's probably not a bad idea to have a "sticky" here with all TSB info easily accessible, it may be more trouble than it's worth since Auto MD maintains a on-line list of X3 TSBs that is usually up to date and is easily searchable.

They currently list (17) TSBs for the 2011 X3 models and (1) recall: 2011 X3 TSBs

Kinda scary!

Thanks for the link Lotus, and yikes, that's a lot for the first year.

Quite a few seem to be due to using cheap parts, like things cracking from cold. I can only hope many of those were addressed in the 2012 models.

Disappointing there were none for the many water issues people are reporting.

Might still be worth making this a sticky, so folks can easily find the link.

Question, won't the dealer address these when you take your X3 in for any service?

TSB's are instructions from BMW telling the dealerships how to fix specific problems. They won't replace components preemptively unless it's a recall.

Dont know what happened to my previous thread.

Point I was trying to make is that 17 TSBs might sound scary but if you search a 2011 Q5 then there are 19.

So either Audi are still having more problems despite the model being out far longer, or they are taking it more seriously and not ignoring their customer's complaints.

Either way I still think BMW are doing a good job.
