Constant battery charge indicators
My dealer is telling me that this is normal, but I can't imagine that I need to have 3 constant indicators of battery health.
The exclamation next to the efficient dynamics display is the first, it's always on, but when I check vehicle status for this alert it says battery okay. The other two are always on also. I can dismiss them for a few seconds but they come right back. I read an earlier post that this indicated that the vehicle might still be in transport mode, but my dealer dismissed that saying it would have shown up on the diagnostics check. I really want to be rid of these can anyone help? |

Yea i believe it is transport mode. We may have different gauges but the same exact signs of transport mode. try another dealer or go back and demand they take it care of it because i had to go back and i was pissed that they didnt get it right for delivery.

Finally got this rectified, it was indeed in partial transport mode although the dealer wouldn't use those words. They had to reset and re-install. Apparently the new procedure for disengaging transport mode involves a single switch which is disconnected upon use. So if something doesn't happen as it should, it requires a re-install of the entire system. My dealer then went to all their X3 customers and had to perform the same procedure. Anyone with a Canadian X3 should ensure their vehicle is working properly. For instance I hadn't realized my "welcome" lights weren't working either, the function that keeps the headlights on for 30 secs after you lock the car.

I would be impressed if the dealer said something to the effect of "We screwed up, and should never have delivered the X3 to you in that condition." That didn't happen, so I have a "different" opinion of your dealer. There's potentially a lot more to Transport Mode than a battery indicator.

Believe me I'm not impressed either. Someone should have noticed this before it was delivered. It shouldn't have taken me pressing the issue, making two appointments and several phone calls to BMWNA, and throwing these forums posts in their face. (Thanks everyone!)
But it's fixed now and I'm happy with my X3! |
