Cost of tranny, transfer case and diffs fluid change

Hi All,

A first time BMW user here. My apology if I have very newbie questions.
I've tried to search it in forum and don't find any so far.

I just bought a 2011 X3 xDrive35i a couple days ago. Odo is 117,850 miles.
Based on the service records, it's never had a fluid change on its tranny, transfer case and differentials.

Could anyone please give me hints on how much is the average cost to do those works each in an independent BMW workshop?
I live in Bay Area - San Jose CA.

I get an estimation of $725 just for tranny fluid change(+filter+gasket).
Do you think that's a good deal or not?

Thank you in advance.

Bayu

in SF bay area that tranny price about right; should be able to get all done for about $1K.

+1 - even on the east coast, my BMW mechanic will charge me 560-600 just for labor - I buy the fluids gaskets and pan, cause even with his dealer discount, I would likely pay more - like FCP Euro and Rock Auto

Best of luck! Some good people on here told me to do the maintenance as I have almost 70K

I replaced the trans/F&R diff/transfer case, fluids myself. Parts costs were $350, though I used ZF fluid in the trans and bmw fluid in the transfer case. Many shops will use a less expensive compatible fluid so check what fluid they're using.

Hi Romero,

I just did mine at Bimmeronly in Fremont for $1,335 for both labor and materials.
The works include: tranny, two diffs, transfer case, engine oil, plus cabin filter change.
I think I got a good deal.

Got all driveline fluids replaced last week: front & rear diffs, transfer case, transmission. New filter and ZF fluids, all OEM.

I paid $895 for everything including taxes. I do my own OCs and filters (engine, air, cabin, fuel) on schedule.

Now onto another 75k miles...
