Wheel Fitment Question
My cousin gave me his stock 17x8 wheels from his 528i xdrive 225/55R17. I know my stock tires are 245/55R17. The 528i tires are brand new continental runflats. Will these fit on my F25? I apologize I know nothing of wheel fitment specifics. Thanks in advance.

You will be running shorter 5 series tires when the X3 needs taller ones (same as 5GT and 7 series) .
The result will be overstating your speed and odometer vs actual, because the car has to spin the wheels faster than calibrated |

The tyres (tires) will fit and being smaller diameter and not as wide will have no problems with rubbing. But as pokerface mentioned you will be running undersized tyres. There will be 22mm - or nearly 1 inch - difference in the rolling diameter of two sizes. This is a variance of -3.2% will result in your speedo (and odometer) reading 3.2% high - ie @ an indicated 60mph you are actually only doing 58mph.
This degree of undersize should be OK but we have had reports over the years of people running 5%-10% undersize tyres resulting in error messages from the X3's xDrive system Tony |

The problem here would be safety more than fitment. The 245 width tires have a "Load Index" of 102 corresponding to 1874 lbs. each. For the 225 width tires the LI is 97 which translates to 1609 lbs. Never use a tire with a lower load carrying capacity than what is shown on the tire placard for a specific vehicle.
