Got an X3 M sport - EDC malfunction and tires questions
I picked up a 2011 X3 M sport that's still under the new car warranty.
It was from a non-bmw dealer, and it did have an issue: "EDC Malfunction" kept coming on. They said they took it to BMW and it was some sensor or other, but the light is still on. Its at BMW now, and they think it is one of the struts and its getting replaced under warranty. Hopefully that fixes it. Any ideas on this? Also, the car has non-RFT Goodyear Eagle RSA2 tires. Are these OK? I really like RFT even though I know the ride is worse. Thinking of getting the Bridgestone Re60AS RFT, hows that compare to the Goodyear eagle LS2 RFT? Sorry, I know - a lot of questions! |

That Electronic Damper Control error could be many things. If it is an easy fix then why wasn't it fixed when the non-BMW dealer took it to BMW? Don't be surprised if you have to wait for a part from Germany, as very few F25 parts seem to be stocked anywhere else. Don't be surprised if the first fix isn't the final fix. Do a search here for EDC and for Electronic Damper Control and you'll find a few threads.

Theres a BMW part shortage with all models. A friend had to wait weeks for new injectors for his E46 M3.

It does have the DHP package - the car has every option except the lane assist one. (It even has the HUD!)
Car feels amazing, when you switch it to sport the whole car jumps forward a bit. Coming from a 335i, I am very happy. It's not as fast, but it is fairly close. |
